It is said that there are only two types of people made in this word, the sheep and the wolves. The wolves conquer and control, letting no one stand in their way. If those people want something, they will obtain it, one way or another. No one embodied this persona more than Napoleon Bonaparte. The tenacity and persistence of this man changed the course of European history forever. His personality commanded over others during conversations and he knew how to take control. Born in Corsica on August 15, 1769 into an aristocratic family, Bonaparte was bred to be a leader from the beginning. Shortly after his marriage, he led his army in a seemingly unlosable war in Italy which ended in France’s taking control of the country. After his military victories in Italy, Bonaparte set his sights on taking control of Egypt in 1798 where he once again gained power with fairly few military losses. During his command of the country, he instituted many reforms in the government and public services which was very beneficial. Pressing matters with opposition to France in Europe caused Bonaparte to return back to Paris in 1799. After a successful coup he staged, named himself Emperor of France. By the time of his crowning as Emperor, Italy had regained their independence from France but with his newly obtained power, once again led an army to recapture the country after a refusal of peace from both Austria and Great Britain. Mozart was incredibly talented; his music is still heard and played around the world today. Amadeus was a very commendable movie portraying Mozart’s life. Though it had many facts there are some fiction moments in the movie. Amadeus depicted the relationship between Mozart and Salieri as a jealous rivalry, when actually they were quite friendly and both appreciated the others work. In the movie Salieri is much older than Mozart when actually Mozart was older than Salieri. The movie begins with Salieri accusing himself of murdering Mozart and is taken to a mental institution. The actual cause of Mozart’s death was an illness not that he was poisoned by Salieri. Mozart had six children, but only two made it into adulthood. In the movie Amadeus Mozart only had one child. When Mozart passed away his wife Constanze was not present at his funeral because she too was ill, although in the movie she was present with their son. Peter Shaffer the writer of Amadeus did an excellent job in illustrating Mozart’s life; the movie was full of drama and envy. Mozart was an extraordinary musician who will never be forgotten. Mozart wrote many admirable pieces, I have chosen Symphony No. 25 and Piano Concerto No. 21. Symphony No. 5 the first movement has a light tempo, while still at times sounding dark. The piece as a whole gives off a very stormy and full feeling. The dynamics range throughout from loud to soft and back to loud. Overall the piece is allegro with only the second movement being andante. As for the Piano Concerto No. 21 it begins quietly with a march then the tempo begins to brighten and a lyrical melody commences after, the soloist begins to play briefly, at that moment the orchestra joins again. The piece as a whole is allegro, with the second movement being andante like symphony No. 25. Symphony No. 25 and Piano Concerto No. 21 are very different, while one sounds dark and stormy the other is brighter and cheery. Although both are very famous pieces, Symphony No. 25 was featured in the opening of Amadeus; both pieces show Mozart’s talent and flamboyant attitude. He is a true genius. Goow Will Hunting vs Holden Caulfield Essay Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in the Rye will have a better chance throughout life than Will Hunting from Good Will Hunting because of several reasons. First, Holden has birth parents who still care about him and help comfort him when he needs help. Another reason is how Will has grown up already with an adult brain and is set in his ways. Holden, on the other hand, is still growing up and might change his attitude on life. Another reason is how both characters received mental help in one way or another and the products of the help resulted in different results. For example, Holden lost his depression and self-conciousness from the help he received as no viable proof was given that stated otherwise. On the counterpoint, Will admired the psychologist because the psychologist had faith in who he was, or he simply didnt learn anything about who he is and what talents he possesses. Just the environment both authors gives me says that Holden still has a chance to change, while Will ha s an opportunity to change, but refuses to. The Catcher in the Rye and Good Will Hunting are two stories that have compelling story lines as well as main characters. The characters do have numerous similarities. One of these include intelligence and understanding in their own subjects (Holden excelled in English in his school and Will excelled in advanced mathematics naturally). Holden and Will both were depressed about life and try to keep personal problems away from the people they love. They both would appreciate deep relationships between himself and a girl. Both try to give the impression to other characters that they are tough and can handle heavy loads of stress. They also live close or inside heavily populated towns loaded with people with bad attitudes (Boston and New York). The list goes on and on as far as these misleading similarities go. The similarities are misleading because they can disguise the fact that their are differences. Some of the differences include age, time period, personalities (in general), everyd ay worries and stress sources, self confidence and even their approaches to life. Holden Caufield will have a better chance in life than Will Hunting to what I have found to be true, although I could be wrong. Some could say that Will was helped because he did what he truly wanted to do, which was pursue the girl of his dreams knowing that he can land a good job almost anywhere where his talents are needed. Or even how Will finally got all his angst about his foster parents out when he cried to his psychologist. But this evidence doesnt at all add up to the amount of evidence supporting Holdens succession over Will, or did I miss something?Bibliography:
